I fully agree to your point that figuring out a (potentially new, fitting) way to work together is a good idea.
The dichotomy you seem to see between
How do we deliver value together?
and Agile is unclear to me. The first principle of the Agile Manifesto literally says:
Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software.
So maybe the problem is not Agile vs. UX, but people focusing on certain practices and hoping for salvation, instead of remembering the underlying principles of the Agile Manifesto (or coming up with own ones).
If that’s true, not only UX is affected, but other disciplines as well (QA/Operations/DB administration/Release Management and so on, depending what kind of company you work in.)
